What your students get

Shops near them

Open houses and ride-alongs at real shops in their trade, sorted by distance. RSVP in one tap.

No resume needed

They meet the crew in person. Showing up and asking good questions is what shops look at.

A record that’s theirs

Events they came to, shops that invited them back, and hours shops approved. It goes with them to every shop.

Questions programs ask
Does it cost anything?
No. FirstHand is free for programs and for students. Shops pay a monthly plan to host open houses.
Do you see or share my students’ information?
Your numbers page shows counts only, never names. Each student owns their own record and decides which shops see it, by RSVPing to their events.
Who are the shops?
Local shops in Nassau and Suffolk counties, starting with electrical, plumbing and HVAC. Each one hosts its own open houses.
How old do students need to be?
At least 18. FirstHand is for adults, so it fits adult education, college, training and workforce programs. Work with high-school students? Email us at kphillips3753@gmail.com.
Can I have more than one link?
Yes. Make one per class or cohort to see each group’s numbers separately.
